Lesson 4.4: Edit Web Site Information

 

The Web Site information screen contains all the vital information needed to describe your Web Site. On the Web Site Information Screen you can:

  • Change the name of your Web Site as it appears on your site, in the community directory, and in search results.
  • Change the description of the Site as it appears in the list of categories or channels.
  • Change information about the person whom a participant might contact about the Web Site.

Note: The Web Site contact does not have to be the same person as the Web Site Administrator. You can have as many Administrators of a Web Site as you want, but you can only have one contact person.]


Make sure you are logged in as a Web Site Administrator and Click the Web Site Manager Button.

     
Scroll to the Preferences Option Section.
It is highlighted in green.

     
Click on Change Web Site Info.

     
Edit any of the web site information that appear in the text boxes on the form.
 
Enter the name of the Web Site. This, along with the description, may be displayed on the community directory of Web sites and in search results.
       
Enter text that explains the purpose of your Web Site (Web Site Description).
       
Click the check box next to the information you want to hide - to prevent guests from seeing any of the items in this section, Participants still see this information.  
     
Add any additional links (optional).  
  As part of the contact information that appears on the bottom of each page, you can also add a link to another web page, an ftp address, or an email address. Be sure to include the appropriate prefix to your address, such as "http://" "ftp://" or mailto:"
       
  Give the Web Site link a description so users know why they should click there.
       
  Hide/Change contact information (optional).
The name of the person who is currently the contact for this Web Site displays. You can hide this name from guests. If this is not hidden, username, first name, and last name of contact appears in the contact
information on Community pages.
     
Click the Done button after making any desired changes.

     
To exit the Web Site Manager, Click the "Return to Your Site Name Home Page" link on your Web Site Manager Page.
