To access the Format Search Box page
- From the page containing the Search box, click the Edit Page
option at the top of the page.
- From the Edit Content on This Page page, scroll through the
postings and find the Search box posting.
- Click the
Format Search Box
option below the Search box feature.
To use the Format Search Box page
- Style: Click the radio button below the style you want. This is the way the Search box will appear.
- Set overall width for search area: Optionally, enter a width for the search area in pixels or a percent
of the page width. Or, you can select Auto to let the system determine the best width. The search area includes
the Search box and any text in the style.
- Set
width of border around search area:
Select 0 to show no border around the search area. To show
a border, select 1 (thin border) through 5 (thick border).
- Format Heading Text: Enter text that appears at the top of your search area. Also choose the font and font attributes.
You might want to enter text that explains why someone should use the Search box.
- Format Link Text:
Select the format for the two links to Search Tips and Advanced Search methods.
- Format Other Text: Select the format for any text in the search area other than the heading, Search box, and links.
- Select
Background Colors: Select
the color that appears as the background to your search area.
The heading color appears at the top of the search area, if
the layout includes a heading.
- Select Scope of Search: You can restrict what Web Sites the user can search by clicking the second option and selecting
one of the options in the drop-down list. Or, by clicking the first option, you can display all Search options
to the user, letting him or her decide what Web Sites to search.
- Click Done.
