| Smart Feature: Message board topic list |
|
| When adding or editing a posting on a page or creating a page
layout, participants or Web Site Administrators can insert links to message board topics that were previously created
using Web Site Manager. You can choose from multiple styles and formats for the message board list. You can choose
the list style, bullet, font, background, and more for the list. You can also choose which topics display on the
list. |
|
|
When
someone adds or replies to messages using the main
message board using Web Site Manager, the list of links
you inserted shows new messages automatically.
How
do you use this Smart Feature?
When
you view the page showing the inserted Smart Feature message
board topic list, you can click one of the message board
links and go directly to the topic. You can see other
posted messages. Only registered users (users who created
a user profile) can post replies to any topic. Also, if
you post the message board link on a private page, the
user must participate first before he or she can view
that message board link.
Where can you use this Smart Feature?
You can insert the Smart Feature message board topic list
on any page in the Web Site, including the Interest Guide channel page.
- When
you add a posting, select Message
Board
from the Layout drop-down list and click the message
board layout you want. This inserts the message board
topic list on your page.
- When you edit a posting, click the
Format
Discussion Topics option to format the message
board topic list.
- Although
you publish
and format
Smart
Features in postings on any page, you update their content
globally
via the Web Site Manager console. To update the content
of the message board, return to the Web Site Manager
and click the Add
message option
in the Message Board section.
Note:
You can use this Smart Feature only if your System Manager
enabled participants to publish in this Web Site and enabled
the use of message boards on pages.
