Smart Feature: Contact information

When adding or editing a posting on a page or creating a page layout, participants or Web Site Administrators can publish Web Site contact information previously entered in Web Site Manager. The contact is the person whom users contact with questions about the content of the Web Site. You can choose from multiple styles and formats for this Smart Feature. You can choose the list style, font, background, and more for the list.

When someone changes the contact information using Web Site Manager, the contact information inserted using the Smart Feature also updates.

Note: The First Name, Last Name, and username are taken from the selected contact's user profile; however, the contact email address, street address, email, phone, fax, and external link are taken from what is entered in the Edit Web Site info option of Web Site Manager.

Where can you use this Smart Feature?

You can use Smart Features on any page in the Web Site, including the Interest Guide channel page.

  • When adding a posting, select Headers and Footers in the Layout drop-down list and select a layout that contains Contact Info. Other layouts in other sets might also include the Contact Info.

  • When editing a posting, click Format Contact Info to format the contact information.

  • Although you publish and format Smart Features in postings on any page, you update their content globally via the Web Site Manager console. To update the contact information, return to Web Site Manager and click the Edit Web Site Info option.


Note: You can use this Smart Feature only if your System Manager enabled participants to publish in this Web Site and enabled the display of contact information on pages.
