Update email notification preferences

Each time you participate in a Web Site, you automatically receive an email notification report highlighting new and modified postings, stories, pictures, and events in those Web Sites. By default, the report includes information on all your Web Sites, and you receive it every day. You can change these preferences on the My Profile page.

You can set different email notification preferences for each Web Site in your Web Site list. For example, you can request that for Web Site A, you only receive notifications every week, but for Web Site B, you receive the updates every day. You can also specify what kind of updates you want for each Web Site. On any day that you have two email updates scheduled (for example, a daily email for Web Site B and the weekly update for Web Site A), you will receive a combined email with both sets of information included.

By default the email notifications include information on all your Web Sites and you will receive it every day.

  1. From the top of any Community page, click My Profile. The My Profile page appears.
  2. Scroll to the My Web Sites section of the My Profile page.
  3. To change the email notification preferences, click the Update Options link below each Web Site. (If you previously selected not to receive updates, this option changes to Get Updates.) The Email Update Preferences page for a specific Web Site appears.
  4. In the Content section, click the Yes or No radio buttons next to specify the information that you want included or excluded in your email notification for this Web Site.

    • New and Modified Content: Click Yes to include a notice in your notification emails each time someone adds a new or updated story, posting, picture, or discussion thread to the Web Site.

    • New and Modified Events: Click Yes to include a notice in your notification emails each time someone adds a new or updated calendar event or scheduled chat to this Web Site.

  5. In the Frequency section, click one of the radio buttons to indicate how often you want email notifications when someone adds or changes items or events in this Web Site.

    • Daily: Receive an email every day, informing you of updates to this Web Site. This email arrives in the morning, and it lists updates to the Web Site within the last 24 hours.

    • Weekly: Receive an email once a week, informing you of updates to this Web Site within the last week.

    • Monthly: Receive an email every month, informing you of updates to this Web Site within the last month.

  6. Click Done to return to the My Profile page.
