Choose a posting layout

Depending on your status, you can add content to a page. Web Site Administrators can always add content. Participants must have publishing permissions, granted by the Web Site Administrator, to add content. Before you add new content, you must either choose a layout from predefined page layouts or create your own layout. Postings can include text, images, graphics, attached files, automatically generated maps, discussions, web links (URLs), and other information.

Layouts are divided into themes. Each layout theme contains items specific to that theme. For example, the sports theme includes layouts for posting game results and highlights. The photo album theme includes layouts for posting photos, photo captions, and introductory text. Before you choose a theme, you must decide what kind of information you want to appear in your posting.

  1. Click Edit This Page, then Insert a New Posting Here.
  2. Select Participation Layout Set from the Layout Set drop-down list.

Note: As a Web Site Administrator, you must first add the Participate button when creating a Web Site. Viewers can click it to become participants. The Participation Layout Set contains this button. If the Web Site is already created, you can select any other layout set.

  3. Click Preview. Images of the layouts for that theme appear.
  4. Click the image of the layout you want to use.
  5. Add information such as title, image file, font formatting, introductory text, and other information specific to the theme you chose.

Note: If you don't like the current layout images, click Next Set or Prev Set in the table to view the next set of layout images, or click Select another layout set at the bottom of the page.
